Thanks for joining us for the Enterprise Connect recap show of MTDAMA Episode 60.
Slides from Episode 60
Q&A from Episode 60
Q. Where can I find the documentation for Facilitator Agent for Rooms?
A. Microsoft Documentation is available here.
Q. Will Pro Portal have more monitoring signals for MTRoA?
A. Yes, this is planned within the next few months.
Q. Did you say that the Teams app must be updated in TAC with AOSP in the future and that it cannot be done in the OEM portal?
A. At present, when migrating from ADA to AOSP, the firmware must be done first via Teams Admin Center. Once it’s fully GA, then OEMs can update the firmware/apps via their chosen channels too. Teams Apps can still be updated via OEMs today.
Q. Any plans for cross domain join on MTRoA yet
A. Last I heard it’s still working progress.
Q. How can we bypass MFA for Common Area Phones?
A. You can use Exclude Manufacturer and Model on any CAP using “Filter for devices” that enforces MFA and add a new CAP that Includes the device Manufacturer and Model. Also, if you have a dedicated CAP rule you can disable any session timer in the rule.
Q. Why are my devices which have migrated to AOSP signing out?
A. It appears that all IP phones are affected by this issue. When navigating to microsoft.com/devicelogin and entering the code from the phone, the sign-in portal does not prompt for MFA. This behavior is observed only for accounts with MFA enforced through conditional access policies. In the next step, there is a difference in behavior between the Company Portal and MDEP firmware. The Company Portal will display the MFA prompt on the phone, whereas the MDEP firmware simply aborts the sign-in flow. The sign-in log shows a “MFA required” block.
Workarounds:
- Sign in to another app using microsoft.com/devicelogin, such as Teams PowerShell with the -UseDeviceAuthentication parameter. The device login page will prompt for MFA. Then, in the same browser session, use the code displayed on the phone. The phone will then obtain a token with MFA
- Touch phones allow local sign-in.
Q. What is the link to the Places Finder app?
A. It’s available here https://www.myteamslab.com/2025/02/microsoft-places-viewer.html
Q. What is the link to the Discord Server?
A. Here it is https://go.mtdama.show/discord
Q. My Neat Boards are showing current release in TAC. Can I assume that AOSP is included in the “current” release of code applied to the devices?
A. No, there will be a release shortly for Teams Admin Center known as 25.1.1 build which will be the AOSP Preview/GA build.
