Virtual Audio & Video Drivers
As I am building out some demos and the servers are accessed over a VPN to another country, it can be difficult to test all features, so being able to test “inside the network” can prove useful. Tom Arbuthnot published a blog post a few year back highlighting the use of virtual audio and video drivers. I came across an issue today in that Skype for Business was still not recognising the Virtual Audio Cable. A quick search and Technet post mentioned about checking to see if the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint have started. Bingo, I could then do calls with my Skype for Business client.
Also make sure you set the Startup Type to Automatic so that when a reboot happens, you’ll have the audio driver in Skype for Business.
