Pexip Infinity with Skype for Business Video Based Screen Sharing (VbSS)

With the forthcoming release of version 14, VbSS will be available in point to point calls from the Skype for Business 2016 client to a VTC.  This is something difficult to explain so I’ve put together a short video below.

In essence, today with Lync and Skype for Business since the summer of 2016, users have been able to enjoy H264 15 frames per second (fps) video for content sharing.  This is a vast improvement from Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).  However, VbSS is just for sharing the full desktop experience.  If you share your Applicaiton it will drop back to RDP.  If you want to read up further, Jeff Schertz had a good explanation of VbSS on this blog here.

Video based Screen Sharing is available from the latest Windows Skype for Business 2016 desktop client to be able to be viewed on the latest CU2 Mac client, along with being able to VbSS on the latest Android and iOS apps.  There is a good article here on the Microsoft blog site.  The Mac CU2 update details are available here.
