The first step is to ensure that you have the latest bios update for your machine. In addition, you need to enable hardware virtualisation VT.
When I trying to install Windows 2008 R2 64bit on my laptop as a Virtual Machine with Oracle VirtualBox, I was getting the BSOD relating to some drivers. After running through all the options, I discovered that it was the Nested Pages for Virtualisation setting under System > Acceleration. Un-tick this box and start the install.
